I just cannot believe how very, very close some people came to guessing what this photo is and no one, not one person got it. So here are a few clues:
It is portable.
It is old.
The photo is a partial image--I didn't crop, I just photographed one part of this item.
So keep guessing, I'll hold out until I get my ten winners!!!
And I cannot believe how many of you emailed or posted a comment to let me know your thoughts about different directions to consider in my design work. I appreciate each and every comment made and each new idea or suggestion for improvement you shared. To thank you, as I said I would, I am posting a set of texture overlays that were in my commercial use grab bag for June, "Real Life Textures Set One." You are getting a whole set of texture overlays. Even if you aren't a designer you can use these to add texture to papers and elements by using different blend modes, such as overlay or soft light and adjusting the opacity. This link will only be up until Tuesday and I am not announcing that it is here other than through my email list. So grab it while you can and leave a comment here because this wasn't uploaded to 4shared, but to my ftp account at Divine Digital and you can't leave comments there. Click on the link to download and this is commercial use okay!

"Blog Me" Round 2 has begun. I sent this along to the next person on the list, tessthescrapper. Click on the image to get to tessthescrapper's blog to find out where she takes this creation that will be our second quickpage this month:
Lastly, today was Father's Day and we had a wonderful day with my husband, his parents and his sister and her kids. It was a lovely day. A little spoiled by some more heat on that "evil blog" but I took it with a grain of salt and fought back as best I could before giving up and realizing that sometimes I can't always get the last word and can't fight every battle if I want to win the war . If you posted today and stuck up for me on that blog, thanks. And if you lurked and watched as I came out fighting, I hope you did not come away with the opinion of the anonymous commenters who conveyed that they thought I had an attitude and a big ego, not to mention a few other things that aren't worth a spot on this blog. I truly love designing and scrapbooking. I love sharing my thoughts and feelings about life here on my blog and in my designs. But sometimes it is hard when something like a silly grab bag has the power to change your business, your passion and your attitude. I am fighting the power to not change and not give in. So thanks for sticking with me and giving me the honest feedback I need to keep going.
So look for some new designs this week. I'll heed your advice and try some new things. First thing I will be working on is a new preview and a better way of putting my previews together. Then I'll make some kits and perhaps a paper pack or two (ROFLOL)....
Have a great night,
Cyndi
p.s. Isn't this layout great? It was posted by Scrappy Diva for the photography challenge going on at Divine Digital. She was the only one who participated so we are revamping the challenge. How about the mystery photo game? Do you think that would be fun? Let me know!

Wow, that other mean blog is sure keeping you busy! I think you are right to stay above board and keep coming at 'em with common sense, for ultimately, they are obviously lacking any, LOL. You're just fine the way you are, if they don't like it, let them go elsewhere...
Now for this mystery picture # 2, Hmmm could it be a burlap sack/bag?
And as always, TY4S your wonderously talented stuff with us!
10:24 PM
it maybe a burlap bag like my dad used to get chicken feed in.
10:28 PM
You are welcome for the designing ideas and thank you for the new texture pack!!!
I'll take a guess on the photo - is it a picnic basket?
10:31 PM
Wow, this is such a cool texture photo! I think it may be an old picnic basket. Thanks so much for sharing it!
10:34 PM
Ok, I'm going to give your photo a guess...It looks like the front of an old portable record player..
I's also like to say, thank you so much for all the goodies..I love your stuff and your blog!
As far as those people leaving the nasty comments...I wouldn't sweat it, obviously they have no clue. :)
Hugs,
Kelly
10:38 PM
Hmm maybe a Folding webbed Patio chair or a picnic basket. But still think it is burlap sack.
10:40 PM
Is is an old radio?
10:40 PM
Thanks for the new textures to play around with, Cyndi. Sounds like you all had a very nice time for Father's Day.
OK, I'm going to guess at the picture... the speaker cover on an old portable phonograph for *gasp* vinyl records!
As for that smack blog, don't fight with the turkeys... soar with the eagles. It's a pity they have something lacking in their lives that they feel the need to attack others so openly and unjustifiably. Peace!
10:44 PM
I'm thinking an old radio
10:49 PM
I think it is an old suitcase, and my DH thought it was a tweed jacket :) Thank you for the freebie !
10:55 PM
I think it could be a potatoe bag made out of jute fiber.
11:07 PM
Thanks so much for the giftie! I so love textures!!!!!
"Illegitimi non carborundum" ... or "Don't let the b@stards wear you down"!!!
Sending you {{{hugs}}} and strength to rise above their pettiness.
11:08 PM
don't let that blog get to you, they don't know what they are doing. They could have given you the benefit of the doubt if they weren't happy with their purchases and contacted you instead ob bad mouthing you! Just shrug it off, people can be weird!
As for the photo, from the size and the neatness of the weave I would guess the front of an old radio or an old chair, although the weave is too neat for that.
11:21 PM
my guess is...a suitcase! Thanks for the goodies!
11:25 PM
could it be a picnic basket?
Thank you for the neat overlays!
11:27 PM
Okay, my guess is part of an old portable record player. Thanks for the fun game!
11:29 PM
Thanks for the textures, I love them, you can do so much with them.
I think the photo is the cover of a speaker from an old portable radio.
11:34 PM
As for the mystery photo, my guess is either a piece of luggage, steamer chest, or a very old outdoor lounge chair. Hmm, bicycle basket? I could go on forever....but I won't.
11:57 PM
I can't resist guessing...it looks like an old radio or record player. But....my husband has a guitar case that also looks kind of similar...
12:47 AM
Thanks for the lovely paper pack, Cyndi and for sharing your awesome photos!!! I'm guessing the texture is the grille on an old radio.
Lainey
1:07 AM
That photo looks like the old suitcases that they used to have. Or, maybe an old picnic basket.
Thank you so much for the textures, and the day 15 freebie.
1:42 AM
I'm gonna guess again. I think it's a tweed jacket, pants, or some article of clothing. I like those guesses of luggage but this wouldn't be my own original guess.
2:03 AM
OK, not the sofa cushion...so hmmm...maybe the cover over a speaker like on an old radio or turntable or tv?
2:44 AM
Hmm maybe the mesh front on a radio. First thought was picnic basket.
3:44 AM
I think it might be an old wicker picnic basket.
Thanks for the set of texture overlays!
3:51 AM
Thank you for the textures
Hugs

6:24 AM
I'd put my money on it being a section from the front of an old mantle radio (wireless) c1920s?
7:00 AM
omg, i can't believe you gave us that cool texture/overlay pack! you are too good to us! ty ty ty! as for the smack blog, stop reading it, lol! it's not worth your time. some people always have to be complaining and making trouble. it's not you, it's just the way they are and your grab bag was convenient at the time. besides, you could spend the time better by taking more torturous texture photos for us to guess at, lol! as for this photo, i've looked harder at it. it's a small tight, even, woven texture. i no longer think it's fabric. now i think it's wicker-like. my new guess is an old suitcase. i bet it has a leather handle and trim.
7:07 AM
I can't decide if it's the seat from a chair or an old picnick basket. I think I'm going to say a seat fromm a chair.
And thanks for the textures!!!!
8:01 AM
H thnks for the daddys kit again I am loving it!! I think its a suitcase! - sunny1972
8:14 AM
I think it is a picnic basket.
8:20 AM
I wonder if it's a basket that you carry or a chair bottom. Anyway, just wanted to say ty for the textures because they are very nice!
8:33 AM
a basket?
8:46 AM
Thanks for the great texture pack, I love it! Could the mystery picture be an old photo album?
As for that smack blog, ignore it. Most folks only look at the pictures anyway. The anonymous comments are from folks looking to gain a little power and notoriety on someone else's back. As my boss once told me, all publicity is good publicity. In a month or so all they'll remember is your name. :D
8:55 AM
Thank you for the new textures. You're spoiling us, but I love being spoiled!
Those people on that smack blog are just jealous and miserable and you can't fight their ignorance. They're just trying to bring you down to their level. Screw them! I bet they are other designers that are trying to cause trouble!
This is my guesses today on the mystery photo: bag/sack or table runner or hot pad. My husband thinks its a radio or record player.
Aunt Anne
10:13 AM
a fishing creel

10:19 AM
It looks like the speaker grill of an old portable radio. But, could also be a picnicc basket... LOL
10:31 AM
this is fun, is it one of those old clothes hampers or a picnic basket?
12:00 PM
Okay..I have to guess.hehe..
A wicker place mat??
A wicker throw rug??
Thank you so much for the texture pack..How cool!
12:31 PM
It looks like the seat on a bentwood rocking chair - at leasts thats what the seat on mine looks like.
Thanks very much for the texture pack.
12:58 PM
Thank you for the overlays - what a wonderful gift!!!
My guess would be a suitcase (like a vanity case or something) or camera case.
2:22 PM
Could it be an old checkbook cover?
2:37 PM
I would never have guessed an old checkbook cover. That may be it though. My guess is a hat.

Is it a picnic basket?
5:49 PM
Cecile from Milwaukee WI
Guessing on the photo. Yesterday thought it was a picnic basket. Today looks more like a vented chair or car seat pad that you put on to keep it cooler.
As to questions 1-6. Well, as they ask me when into any store, "Can I help you find something?" and my answer, "I wont know until I see it...." So I don't have any suggestions except for SOMETHING DIFFERENT.
Been asking myself, and just how many digital bows and flowers does one need anyway?
Didn't like grunge so much, but now seems comfortable to use it. Not a button or bows person. Glitter - like the looks and texture of the real stuff more than digi. Colors????? Depends on project.

PS yes, that is a nice layout. Didn't know anything about a photo challenge at DD. Been doing another one (well, just started last month) and been enjoying taking my camera with me and have been noticing things and snapping photos.
7:30 PM
Thanks so much for the awesome texture pack!
10:21 PM
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely textures! Can't wait to play! :)
The photo looks like the cover of stereo console on older portable stereos or phonographs.
Thank you again! :)
Cindy
11:07 PM
I also meant to add that it covers the speaker section. :)
11:09 PM
ok, my guess is a suitcase or purse.
11:21 PM
thank you for the free textures.
12:25 AM
Awesome textures. The more I learn about digi scrap'n, the more I am addicted to these.
